Hello! I was glad to see this in my inbox - I wondered what happened to you. I admire your commitment to gardening with the space that you have. Check out this site. It has gardening kits for kids, including those "watch the roots grow" kits where there is a carrot growing in a test tube. I've also seen similar kits where they grow in a narrow space between two panes of glass. I say this as encouragement because it's my understanding that as long as it's deep enough, carrots will grow in anything. Why don't you just cut the neck off those soda bottles so that the "pots" are deeper and go ahead and give it a shot in what you've already set up? Good luck!
